The first day: Athens-Corinth-Kalbrita
In the morning we will cross the bridge and drive towards the Corinth Canal. Corinth Canal was able to provide a shortcut and a safe journey between the Aegean and the Ionian gulfs.
You arrive at Diakopto where you get on the cable car. The ride on the cable car resembles a trip in a dream. The train enters the depths of the river channel and descends from Mount Helmus. Arriving in Calabrita to the hotel, room check-in, a tour of the beautiful and historic mountain city. This is where the revolution began on March 25, 1821 against the Turks.
The second day: Kalavryta-Dimitsana
After breakfast we will continue our journey towards the center of Arcadia. In the morning we visit one of the strangest churches in Greece, maybe even in the world.

The third day: Dimitsana-Kalamata
In Dimitsana we have an easy walk in the gorge of the Prodromos Monastery, and we will visit a water station in Muezzin. The Water Power Open Museum has restored traditional installations and mechanisms powered by water. The laboratories are surrounded by dense vegetation and plenty of running water, where you can wander. Their fixed equipment was returned to their original function.
On the way to Kalamata, we visit the Temple of Apollo. The monument is one of the best and most important that survived from classical antiquity. Arrival in Kalamata, receiving rooms.
The fourth day: Kalamata-Kardamily-Diros-Kalamata
Driving south along the coast of Messiniachos Bay. Driving through a breathtaking landscape to the village of Kardamili located in the area called Mani (about two and a half hours drive). We will reach the village of Areopolis - the most spectacular place in Mani, and continue towards Diros Bay. We will not miss Pyrgospita, where there are the square stone towers where the families in the area used to fortify themselves during the many conflicts that this arid region is so well known for. After going down to Diros Bay we will visit the impressive Glyfada Caves. The stalactites scattered in the tunnel system were opened to the public in 1963 and are among the most impressive of their kind in the world. We will sail inside the tunnels in a small boat. Back to Kalamata.
The fifth day: Kalamata-Sparta-Mystras-Monemvasia
After breakfast we will start the trip to Sparta and the archaeological sites of Mystras. Mistras was the fortified city of Morea (Peloponnese), on Mount Tigus, near the ancient city of Sparta. It lies about eight kilometers west of the modern city of Sparta, which was reconquered by the Byzantines, then by the Turks and the Venetians, the city was abandoned in 1832, leaving only breathtaking ruins from the Middle Ages on top of an impressive natural setting. In 1989, the ruins, including the fortress, the palace, the churches , the monasteries have been declared a world heritage site by the UNESCO organization. We will have lunch in Sparta and arrive at Monemvasia.
The sixth day: Monemvasia-Nafplio
After breakfast we will go to the part which is probably the most spectacular part of the trip: at first we will reach the mountain village of Kosmas for a coffee break. One of the most beautiful roads leads from these mountains to the picturesque fishing village of Leonidion. We will continue along the coast until we reach the city of Nafplio.
This city is blessed with a beautiful harbor, picturesque alleys, Italian architecture, excellent restaurants, cobbled streets, and a fortress with a significant history. Nafplio was the first capital of the modern Greek state. We will climb the full 999 steps to the top of the citadel and look at the view of the bay. It is possible that we will also take a small boat and sail to the small island of Bourtzi, which is in front of the city. We will stay there.
The seventh day: Nafplio-Athens-Taverna
After breakfast we will tour the city of Nafplio on foot. This city is blessed with a beautiful harbor, picturesque alleys, Italian architecture, excellent restaurants, cobbled streets, and a fortress with a significant history. Nafplio was the first capital of the modern Greek state. We will climb the full 999 steps to the top of the citadel and look at the view of the bay. Later we will visit the famous amphitheater of Epidaurus, an amphitheater from the Hellenistic period. During the summer, music and dance performances are held there, as part of the Athens festival. and drive towards Athens in the evening. Getting rooms in a central hotel. In the evening we go to a tavern with live music to celebrate the end of the successful trip.
The eighth day: Athens-Tel Aviv
In the morning free time to walk in the city center and the markets.
